From all of us here at the library - Happy Holidays! Though this year is out of the norm for many, we are trying to keep things as festive as possible. Share your holiday cheer with us!
We are accepting holiday ornaments made by the community to decorate our tree. If your family would like to participate, drop off your ornament during library hours or place in the book drop. We have Christmas themed bookmarks you can bring home with you, and plenty of stockings with treats and goodies for the kids. Kids can take home a stocking and free book to keep now through December 23rd, while supplies last!
Santa Claus will be touring the streets of Lyons Falls by firetruck on Sunday, December 13th beginning at 2PM. Children can meet Santa for a gift and a hello on their front lawn wearing a mask and social distancing from their neighbors. Santa's elves will be handing out optional covered hot cocoa and individual bags of cookies to be enjoyed in your own home. Listen for the the firetruck horn when it comes to your street!
Join us from home for a Christmas themed story, read by local volunteer and retired teacher Linda Higby, on Saturday, December 19th at 10:15AM! This live storytime event is being streamed with permission from Penguin Random House through Facebook Live and is the first of what we hope will be many more at home participation events! You can RSVP and see more event details here: https://www.facebook.com/events/2123104361157930/
The library will be closed Thursday, December 24th, Friday, December 25th, Thursday, December 31st, and Friday, January 1st. Curbside pick up and assistance with catalog browsing are available by phone during regular hours for your convenience, just call 348-6180, and the library is open for in person visits at limited capacity. Stay safe and well this holiday season, and thank you for your support! We hope to see you take part in any or all of our year end activities. Here's to a brighter tomorrow! Season's greetings and Merry Christmas!
